The trophy button under the field guide's at the map's top right opens the achievements: the stars earned of all there are, then lines of three stars, each with how far along it is to its next star (and a bar), then the badges.
Cargo delivered: a line for each of the 20 commodities, by units delivered: containers 2,000 / 250,000 / 5,000,000; tons 50,000 / 10 million / 100 million; head of livestock 5,000 / 1 million / 10 million; vehicles 2,000 / 250,000 / 5,000,000 (a few loads of a small ship, a good many of a middling one, and hundreds of the biggest: a long game's work).
Company: Fleet (ships owned, tugs not counted: 10 / 50 / 200), Company level (10 / 30 / 60), Money in the bank ($10M / $500M / $5B), and Field guide: animals seen, a third, two thirds and all of the guide's 187 (62 / 125 / 187, shown as counts); each of those stars takes 20% off the price of a tug (see Tugs).
Badges (milestones): Maiden voyage (deliver a cargo), Branching out (build a hub), Network (5 hubs), New horizons (a second market region), Seven seas (every region), Jack of all trades (deliver every commodity), Full house (a ship of every cargo line), Between the oceans (cross the Panama Canal), Short cut (the Suez Canal), Lock keeper (every canal), Borrowed time (take out a loan), Debt free (pay one back in full), Mega (a mega upgrade) and Hidden gem.
Once earned, kept (selling ships or spending money doesn't take them back). Each player's game looks for new ones every second and says so in the activity log ("Achievement: Coffee ★★ (2 of 3 stars)", "Achievement: Maiden voyage") and on a card in the middle of the screen (see Cards).
Cards: the big moments get a card in the middle of the screen: a company level reached (COMPANY LEVEL UP, "Level 12", and what it unlocked, or a word to keep going) and an achievement earned (ACHIEVEMENT, its name and stars, "2 of 3 stars for containers delivered"). The game pauses while one shows and carries on at the speed it was at when Continue is pressed (Space or Enter too; a game already paused stays paused); several at once queue up, one card each. In multiplayer the host's clock runs for everyone, so the card shows without pausing and Continue just closes it.
Animals seen, pokedex style: clicking a flock of birds, a pod of sea animals or a group of land animals on the map (its popup showing them) marks each species in it seen, and the field guide shows a green check by its name and how many are seen of all of them ("34 of 121 seen").
Achievements and animals seen are each player's own: a joined player's are worked out by their game and sent to the host, which keeps them in its save.
