Skins are bought for Sand Dollars, the in-game currency, one at a time or in bundles: any one skin 100 Sand Dollars ($1), every ship skin of a pack 500 ($5), every outfit of a pack 500 ($5), a whole pack 1,000 ($10); a bundle never charges for skins already owned (its price is capped at the missing skins one by one). A ship skin covers the models its art fits (the drumstick and the dinner roll come in three fits, one skin); an outfit is a human skin: the CEO and captain options it unlocks, its crew hat and its uniform colours (the catalog's outfits list what each holds; a shared option such as buckle shoes comes with any outfit that has it). Sand Dollars: one Sand Dollar is one cent, and they're bought in bundles (500 for $5.00 up to 5,000 for $50.00) with Steam money through the Steam Inventory Service. Without Steam running the Sand Dollars page says so and nothing can be bought. The balance, the packs owned and the pack worn are this computer's, not a save's, with a ledger of every grant and purchase.
The Shop: two tabs. Skin packs lists every pack on sale (and any with a skin owned): its title, how many of its skins are owned, Wear on my ships / Take off once any of its ship skins is owned (one pack's skins are worn at a time, on the player's own ships only; other players' and the rivals' ships are drawn as they are), a Whole pack button, then its ship skins and its outfits each as a button with the skin's price (ticked once owned; a tooltip says which models wear it, or what the outfit unlocks) and an All of these button per group, every bundle button showing its price now and greyed with how much more is needed. Sand Dollars shows the balance, the bundles and what Steam says about a purchase under way.
